TURKANA-
SAMBURU SPECIAL CULTURAL TOURS
Day 1: NAIROBI - BARINGO
09.00 hrs: Leave Nairobi for L. Baringo. Picnic Lunch en-route. On arrival
at L. Baringo in the afternoon set up Camp / check in Lodge. Those who
prefer can organise for a boat ride to see the many birds on the Island.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: BARINGO / MARALAL / SOUTH HORR
0700 hrs: After breakfast, leave South Horr for Maralal. Picnic lunch en
route. A walk after lunch through the most colourful town, before
proceeding to Baragoi via Losiolo which is in the edge of the Great Rift
Valley. Dinner and overnight at South Horr camp / Lodge.
Day 3: SOUTH HORR - LAKE TURKANA
0730 hrs: After breakfast, leave South Horr for lake Turkana arriving in
time for lunch at El molo camp/ Lodge which is on the shore of Lake
Turkana. Mingle with the Turkana people, who have an exciting history.
Rest of the day at Leisure by the Jade sea. Dinner and overnight at the
Camp/ Lodge.
Day 4: LAKE TURKANA
After breakfast visit the El-Molo village. The El-molo is one of the
smallest tribes in Africa and quite different from Turkana. Lunch at
campsite/ Lodge. Afternoon at leisure , fishing or swimming if
crocodiles allow. Dinner and overnight at the Campsite / Lodge.
Day 5: TURKANA / MARALAL
0900 hrs: After breakfast leave Turkana for Maralal . Lunch en route.
Dinner and overnight at Maralal.
Day 6: MARALAL - SAMBURU
0830 hrs: After breakfast leave Maralal for Samburu reserve. On arrival
proceed to
Camp / lodge, thereafter proceed for a late evening game drive. Here you
could mix with the Samburu peoples who are cousins of the Masai people.
Dinner and overnight at the Lodge / Camp.
Day 7: SAMBURU
0630 hrs: Early morning game drive. Return to the camp/ Lodge for
breakfast then proceed for morning and Afternoon game drive after lunch.
Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/ camp.
Day 8: SAMBURU - NAIROBI
0800 hrs: after breakfast leave Samburu for Nanyuki town for Lunch.
Arriving Nairobi later in the Afternoon.
